At first, I was a little skeptical of the sauna program. I did do some research and after reading the success stories from others (online) I thought I might just give it a try.

I have tried other methods in the past and I have never felt as good as I did when I finished the sauna program. In just about under 30 days, all the restlessness and pain from the last 4 years of opiate use has finally left my body.

I gained 20 pounds, have tons of energy and confidence, feel extremely healthy and I am ready to finally live my life again without feeling like a “prisoner” to my addiction. – N.D. Oct 2011

Per  “Late Breaking News” from an E-lert site:

“A group of US representatives plan to introduce legislation that will legalize marijuana and allow states to legislate its use, pro-marijuana groups said Wednesday. The legislation would limit the federal government’s role in marijuana enforcement to cross-border or inter-state smuggling, and allow people to legally grow, use or sell marijuana in states where it is legal. The bill, which is expected to be introduced on Thursday by Republican Representative Ron Paul and Democratic Representative Barney Frank, would be the first ever legislation designed to end the federal ban on marijuana.”

Of course, this would generate revenue for the federal government, as there is nothing for sale for which they do not collect taxes.  With the economy in the tank, we need to refill the coffers and what better way then to introduce a new product, already surveyed and desired by many.

But, what are the consequences of this? Smoking marijuana is part of our culture? It being as readily available as alcohol? Another source of revenue? From more DUI’s, that’s for sure.

The film “Reefer Madness” has become a cult classic and is viewed by users of pot as hilarious.  However, there was a young girl from the south side of Chicago who started smoking marijuana which led to trying psychedelics, then to speed, then to cocaine, other psychedelics, then to hard core drug experimentation-heroin.

Within a matter of a few years, many of her former high school friends were full blown heroin addicts and at least three died of overdoses.  At age nineteen, she left her hometown and moved to West Palm Beach  to get away from drugs, only to find the same scene she had tried to escape from. Only now, she fell in with cocaine dealers.  By the time she was twenty-five, clearly, she wouldn’t make it to thirty if she did not end drug use-‘hobnobbing’ with the lowest common denominator of society in the subterranean world of illegal hard drugs. It wasn’t glamorous, especially when one acquaintance asked her for a ride and once she had agreed, he got into the car and put his concealed 45-caliber pistol under the seat.  She got him to his destination fast and soon changed her own course in life.

Marijuana is a mind-altering drug, while it initially causes euphoria,  it makes one slower, less productive, can cause paranoia, slurred speech and the all-inclusive munchies. As if obesity isn’t already a problem in this country. While these observations are not true for everyone- they are for most.

When I began the program I had a lot of trouble concentrating due to the abuse of opiates and various other drugs. I also had no energy and had pain, depression and an overwhelming feeling of hopelessness. When I first started the Sauna Detox Program I could barely concentrate on anything. My body was always tired and achy and I was still physically craving drugs. Now that I am finished with the Sauna Program I have an extreme lust for life. All I want to do is play and experience new things. I have a lot more energy now!

When people talk about drugs I have absolutely no physical or mental cravings anymore. It is incredible how much the fog has been lifted from my mind. I feel happier and it takes little to make me laugh! I can’t even explain how important the Sauna Program is to me. It changed everything in my life!

Society is impacted on multiple levels by drug abuse. It is a major public heath issue; whether directly or indirectly every community is affected by drug abuse and addiction. Addiction takes a toll on society in many ways.

• DUI/DWI: The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has estimated that 10 to 22 percent of drivers involved in crashes are under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
• Violence: At least half of individuals arrested for violent crimes in the US where under the influence of drugs at the time they committed the crime.
• Stress: High stress environments are a leading cause for vulnerable people to begin using drugs and former addicts to relapse.

Drug abuse not only impacts the person using but also, their family and community. Prevention and treatment is possible.

Coming in to Pur Detox proved to be a life changing experience for me. I came without any real tangible knowledge or expectations. I did know I wanted help. I did know that other attempts at getting and staying sober had failed. I came open minded and I couldn’t have found a more perfect solution.
